Journaling efforts part 2

Posts on my blogs can only be so long.
Now, the relevance of the assessment is made clear through the abstract of that last paper that was linked.

Polymers plan to take over the industry. You will have polymers flowing from your veins.

Nah, just kidding. 😂

Laugh a little! (Or a LOT. Whichever you choose to do. Do it with love.)

Okay, Okay. I'm going to get back to being serious. Don't be such a party pooper. Putting all this information out (that they prefer you don't know about) is fairly cool from my perspective. I guess if you've not been following along for the last 4 years. This will not really make sense.

Sustainable development is a keyword here.

Plastic pollution is wreaking havoc across the globe. They need a solution and fast. Otherwise, our planet will be destroyed. (that's what they say)...

EIA appears to have conducted problem-solving research and implementation practices are in action.

Packaging sustainability assessment:

Four days ago, Global Data put out a report. Today is 12/09/2023.

The report says:

"Approximately 40% of the world's plastic production finds its way into packaging, costing the environment a staggering $40bn, as estimated by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). This figure is just the tip of the iceberg, with projections indicating a surge in these costs. The traditional linear approach to packaging is no longer sustainable, necessitating a paradigm shift. However, a lack of consensus on how to assess alternative packaging materials hampers progress, hindering companies from making informed decisions to embrace circular and sustainable solutions. The negative impacts of plastic packaging are multifaceted, affecting ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. The urgency to address this issue is underscored by the alarming statistics, as well as the increasing awareness and concern among consumers."

Packaging Sustainability Assessment

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development says:

Plastic pollution and consumers’ environmental awareness are driving businesses to adopt new strategies to safely deliver their products. However, capturing the sustainability and circularity credentials of packaging is still a challenge, and existing methodologies are limited in scope. There is a clear need to go beyond current assessment boundaries to create an all-encompassing framework. That is why companies across the value chain have come together in this workstream to develop a guide for holistic environmental assessment of packaging. The business case for sustainability is not just a moral imperative but a strategic necessity. Beyond meeting consumer expectations and regulatory requirements, companies that embrace sustainable practices are better positioned for resilience in a rapidly changing business landscape. The comprehensive framework being developed in the Packaging Sustainability Assessment workstream is envisioned as a roadmap for businesses to navigate these complexities." HOW COULD THAT HELP DEVELOPERS OF POLYMERS? LETS EXPLORE THAT IN THE NEXT POST. I know, you're probably wondering how thermal systems and polymers come together too. Trust me. The next section will provide the answers! Until then, be blessed and don't forget to say your prayers, friends!
